Let’s be honest, April is a pretty awesome month! We celebrate warmer weather, longer days, and most years, we get to celebrate Easter in April as well. It’s also the first full month of Spring and most people are filled with a little more optimism and joy. So, that makes April a great month to have a baby and celebrate their birthday, too!
If you have an April baby, you should consider yourself quite lucky! April is seen as a very desirable month to have a baby. According to a study out of the University of Exeter, first-time moms in the United States would prefer to have a Spring birthday for their babies. Some would even pay almost $900 if they could guarantee their baby would be born in April. Crazy, right?

They’re more likely to be optimistic
April babies are more likely to be happy and optimistic about life. According to UK researchers, those born in the Spring score higher on the hyperthymia scale – which is a scientific term for general optimism. April babies are more likely to have a ‘glass half-full’ kind of outlook and often find the silver lining in every situation.
They tend to have better health
Being born in April means you’re likely in good health. A Columbia University medical study revealed those born in April are less likely to be affected by cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and reproductive diseases than those born throughout the rest of the year.
It’s a royal birthday month
Speaking of good health, Queen Elizabeth II will be 95 this month – which is amazing! She was born on April 21st, 1926. I’m a big fan of the royal family, especially the Queen, so I’m a little jealous that those born in April share a birthday month with her majesty. In addition, Jennifer Garner, Leonardo da Vinci, David Letterman, Robert Downey Jr., William Shakespeare, Emma Watson, Daisy Ridley, and Eddie Murphy all have April birthdays. Not a bad crew to be grouped with, right?

Babies born in April are either an Aries or a Taurus. Two astrological signs known for having some pretty great qualities. Aries celebrate their birthdays between April 1st and 19th, and are typically seen as passionate, independent, and confident. Taurus celebrate their birthdays between April 20th and 30th, and are known to be smart, ambitious, and trustworthy.

When it comes to birthstones, April babies hit the jackpot with the diamond. The diamond is associated with longevity, strength, beauty, and happiness. It’s also the most durable of all the birthstones. Another fun fact? According to the American Gem Society, the word diamond was adopted from the Greek word ‘adamas’ – which means ‘invincible’. Like I said, birthstone jackpot!
They’re more likely to be successful
People born in April should dream big! While those born in other months tend to find success in a few select careers, a study by the Office for National Statistics in the U.K. found people born in April find success in many different types of careers. In fact, CEO’s are most likely to be born in March or April.
Now, I wasn’t born in April, but I kind of wish I was now! There are so many positives!
